I've alive--just lazy...

So I haven't been on dA in about 2 months (which is quite some time for me), and right now I have the daunting task of trying to go through about 400+ deviations, journals, messages etc. in my inbox. Oh man oh man.

So what have I been doing since graduation? Geez, I wish I knew... But here's a very generalized recap on what I do remember.

Well, first off, went to ACen '08 back in May with :iconbelovedhope: and my sister. I wish I could have said that I had a good time, but overall I was pretty disappointed. But the reason for my disappointment were mostly personal over the con itself. But don't get me wrong, there were some pretty great things about that weekend too. I finally got to meet an online buddy of mine (we share a mutual acquaintance in real life so it's not as creepy as it sounds, lol), although we weren't able to hang out for very long (sorry, Brandon!). And we shared a hotel room with Udon Comics artist Kevin Yan aka :iconyanimator:! REALLY great guy! Thanks for putting up with our antics, Kevin! :D

Besides ACen, I also sat in on a comics class that a grad student I know was teaching. I have to say, it was pretty intense. Lots of reading, lots of work. And 6-hours of comics nearly every day? Yeah...

I'm going to try to upload some of the comics made in that class here on dA, but knowing how inclined I am towards procrastination, that could take a while :P

Hmm...both that class and ACen were ages ago by now, so what on earth have I been doing with my time since then?! Well, I'm still down here on campus, riding out my summer with my part-time job as an ad designer. I need to find a real job though (and soon!) for when I move back up to the Chicago area in a month. Moving and job hunts... Yeah, I've been living one kerazy summer...

Eh, that's a depressing way to end a journal entry. Haha. So if I want to put a positive spin on things, I guess I can conclude by saying that I will attempt (keyword!) to get myself together. Churn out a bunch of artwork, build a better portfolio, tackle the job hunt with the kind of enthusiasm and voracity one gets from tripping on acid--or something. I don't know, I don't do drugs. XP

I wanted to persue a career in art, but asian parents demand doctors/lawyers/engineers for children. Rather than cave in completely, I decided to become an EALC major, something that has slightly higher financial stability. hah. So once again, kudos to you.

As for JAC, if you come by to the meetings again, I'll be sure to say ello. (I'm been trying to learn everyone's name - prolly got around 30 so far)

i think what i was noticing on my works was not in the gallery but was in the recent deviation thing but that probably is not my problem. also when i zoom in it really does work well but that must be due to the size i made the images so i will make them larger next time. thanks for the help yo

it is robbie vermillion. i realized that i dont think i have looked at your little site here since i became a memeber.anyway i was wondering how do you do the whole small image then clik on it to a larger image thing? i think that is thumbnail to full sized image but when i tried all of my images stayed the same size. anyway
