This is a drawing of my friend, Amy as a ninja of the Hidden Village of Konoha. I decided to give her a proper-fitting Japanese name. Sooo, Amy gets converted to the Japanese "Ami" (which just happens to mean "Asian Beauty" or something like that) and Hope translated into Japanese is Kibou. Though "Amy Hope" is her full first name, I decided to split em up as if it was a first and last name thing. And in proper Japanese fashion, the last name goes first, so there we go. Kibou Ami.
Vocabulary Recap!
Kunoichi=female ninja
Amicommon first name) Asian beauty
Kibou=Hope
Konoha no="Of Konoha (leaf)". Konoha is the name of the hidden ninja village in the Fire Country (In Naruto).
Kibou Ami--Konoha no Kunoichi
Amy Hope--Female Ninja of Konoha
The image was drawn (the uncolored version is in my scraps) and colored (poorly, might I add) by me, but the costume design was worked out between the both of us (meaning I kept asking her a bunch of crazy questions about every little detail).
I admit that the coloring was a rush job on photoshop, but this image was more about having a depiction of herself as a ninja rather than creating a portfolio piece if you know what I mean. I plan on doing a nicer drawing later on though. And I might submit a copy of this image done in marker as well.
Rank and abilities...not decided yet, so stay tuned
Awesome design. The back of her left sandal should be parallel to the other sole of the other sandal, but that's all that I see wrong. Nice expression too.
Yeah, these were more about just having a basic image in mind for what we'd look like. I'm planning on doing a "real" image later on (whenever that may be).
Understandable completely, but it helps to notice things like that. Even if they're small. If you're ever in doubt, hang your picture up or have some one hold it, and back away from it to make sure. Trust me, it does a whole lot.
Yeah that's what we do in our critiques with our professors and the other art majors. We always hang up our work and take a step back and see what we've done, and we give compliments, but we give even more criticisms (we kind of have to..lol).
Yeah, I don't feel too bad about it though, since it was just a doodle to help us visualize
